Trevcon Construction Co. is currently working on the rehabilitation for the 5.5 miles of Rockaway boardwalk which was damaged during hurricane Sandy.  The $341 million reconstruction is owned by NYC EDC and NYC Parks and Recreations, and engineered by CH2M hill. The project is set to consist of 5 separate phases of construction spanning over 2 years. Trevcon’s portion of the work entails the installation of all precast concrete boardwalk planks, sand retaining wall, driving piles and setting pile caps in multiple phases. The most unique feature of the boardwalk being installed by Trevcon is the glow in the dark concrete planks, which will spell out “Rockaway” to be seen be planes arriving and departing from the nearby JFK airport.
